Juventus keeping focus despite fast start

ROME - Juventus has won its first two games since returning to Serie A
and shares the league lead with AS Roma. Coach Claudio Ranieri isn't
getting too excited though.

"Starting well was important but you see the horses at the end of the
race," Ranieri said. "We're only at the beginning and any sort of
judgment is premature."

The Bianconeri have defensive problems for Sunday's match against
Udinese, while Roma visits Reggina before the two leaders meet a week
later.

Jonathan Zebina was banned for four matches for slapping a stadium worker
as he walked off the field after picking up his second yellow card during
Juve's 3-2 win over Cagliari in its last match.

Another Juventus defender, Jean Alain Boumsong, hurt his left thigh
during a friendly with Zaragoza on Friday and will be out for two months.

"The reality is there are squads better outfitted to win the title than
we are," goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said. "Winning again right away is a
nice thought, but we've got to be realistic."

In attack, David Trezeguet leads the league with four goals, although he
came up dry in France's 1-0 loss to Scotland on Wednesday. Alessandro Del
Piero had a poor performance in Italy's 0-0 draw with France and was
relegated to the tribune for the Azzurri's 2-1 win in Ukraine on
Wednesday.

Juve's third forward Vincenzo Iaquinta started for Italy against Ukraine
but didn't make much of an impact. Iaquinta recently transferred from
Udinese, which now relies on Antonio Di Natale, who scored both of
Italy's goals in Kiev.
