The ancient city of Lijiang has become world famous for its wonderful
canals, beautiful scenery and charming landscape. It is a town that
requires that you relax and enjoy life just by nature of its gentle
atmosphere. Because of its rare attributes, Lijiang attracts a multitude
of visitors from China and abroad. This increase in tourism has
occasioned the building of new hotels and guest houses. Some are very
modern buildings and others are built as replicas of courtyard style
inns. Regardless of the style, the hospitality and accommodations are
excellent. Most of these hotels are located in picturesque old town
Lijiang or just a short walk from it. The per room rate is moderate,
although the price may increase a little bit during May 1st Day and the
Chinese National Day. The peak travel season in Lijiang is March to
November and visitors are advised to book hotels beforehand. Regardless
of when you go, you will find the mild weather conducive to a rewarding
visit.
